Isaac Sackey's Alanyaspor retained their Turkish Superliga status following a 2-2 draw with Sivasspor on Sunday.

The Alanya-based outfit were on the verge of dropping out of the elite league before their Week 33 clash against Sivasspor at the Yeni Sivas 4 Eylül Stadyumu.

But they fell behind to John Boye's 11th minute diving header goal before Emre Akbaba restored parity in the 22nd minute.

However, Arouna Kone's 56th minute looked to have sealed victory for the hosts until Brazilian striker Wellinton popped up with a 88th minute equalizer to end the match 2-2 - which effectively saved their blushes of dropping into the relegation doldrums.

By virtue of the stalemate, Alanyaspor moved to 13th on the standings with 38 points, five points above the relegation zone with a game to spare.

In the aftermath of the match, Technical Director of Alanyaspor, Mesut Bakkal expressed his delight with the result but more especially with the relegation survival.

"We believed in each other and this was reflected in the results," he said.

"We have been in the last week and we are guaranteed to stay in the league with a score of 37." a team that deserves this league as a group. We remembered some things that we had delayed and they responded. And thanks to the players, I thank the cami for their support."

Sackey played 67 minutes while Boye enjoyed full throttle of the game.
