Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has removed Ishmael Hamidu as the kit manager of the Black Stars and replaced him with the latter's protege Osman, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The Normalisation Committee are reported to have communicated the decision to the kits man on Thursday and told him that he will be reassigned to the National U23 side Black Meteors.

The decision was mooted by the coach of the Black Stars who is embarking on a massive clearout of the backroom staff before the African Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt in June.

This comes after Maxwell Konadu was removed as one of the assistant coaches of the Black Stars.

Hamidu is being replaced as the equipment officer of the Black Stars in the massive shake-up is carried out by the Normalisation Committee under the guidance of coach Francis Oti Akenteng.

Ghana have qualified for their eighth straight time since 2006 and will face Kenya in the last qualifying game in March to decide who tops Group F.

Ghana has not won the AFCON title since 1982 and have managed to feature in two finals in the last decade.
