Italy coach Antonio Conte is reportedly close to landing the Chelsea job, expecting a contract offer in the next 10 days.
The former Juventus boss – who has been in charge of the Italian national team since August 2014 – is out of contract in the summer, with the Blues already showing heavy interest in the tactician.
As per `the Guardian, both Juve coach Massimiliano Allegri and Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone were on the Blues’ shortlist, but the ex-Bianconeri captain is now the favourite to land the job.
The meeting between both parties on Thursday has reportedly been labelled ‘very positive’, with the Chelsea board willing to make the appointment before the summer transfer window begins in order to make the necessary recruitments.
