Ivorian Toure to marry Ghanaian for switch

Ivorian striker Ahmed Toure says he is prepared to marry a Ghanaian lady in order to speed up his nationality switch.

The Asante Kotoko ace has written to Fifa to switch allegiance but marrying a Ghanaian will secure him a Ghanaian passport.

"I was told if I could get straight approval if I'm half Ghanaian or married to a Ghanaian so I'm thinking about that. If I get a good lady, why not? I will marry her and see what will happen," Toure told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

The 24-year-old has only represented Ivory Coast's Under-20 team in the past.

Fifa is expected to clear him in the coming months as he seeks to play for the Black Stars.
