Kelly welcomes Cherries chance

Published on: 19 May 2019

England Under-21 international Lloyd Kelly is relishing the challenge of establishing himself in the Premier League, having left Bristol City to join Bournemouth.

The versatile 20-year-old defender has signed a long-term contract at Dean Court, having scored twice in 43 first-team appearances for the Robins, who finished just outside the Championship play-off places this season.

He is athletic, versatile, physically excellent and has a very bright future ahead of him.

And Kelly is pleased to have be given the opportunity to test himself in the top-flight and is determined to make the most of the chance on offer.

He told his new club's official website: "It's a fantastic club. The move has come around quite quickly, but I'm happy to be here and can't wait to start playing.

"Premier League football is what I've always wanted to achieve. I want to play as many games as possible and I feel like this is the right place for me to try and do that."

Meanwhile, Cherries head coach Eddie Howe added: "Lloyd is an exciting talent and a player of real potential, while at the same time already possessing good experience for someone so young.

"He is athletic, versatile, physically excellent and has a very bright future ahead of him. I'm delighted that we have been able to strike so early in the summer."

Bournemouth are 7/2 to finish in the top half of the Premier League table next season, while they are 7/2 to be relegated.
