Kevin-Boateng set for one-month injury lay-off

AC Milan have confirmed midfielder former Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng is out for at least a month.

The club released a statement on Monday night announcing that Boateng suffered a left thigh strain with lesion to the muscle during the 1-0 defeat to Inter on Sunday.

"The prognosis is around four weeks, save for complications."

Boateng's absence is very bad timing for the Rossoneri, as Alberto Aquilani and Gennaro Gattuso are also out for a month, while Mathieu Flamini is sidelined for another two months.

They scrambled for reinforcements today by recalling Alexander Merkel from Genoa, who co-own his contract, on a six-month loan spell.
