Besiktas JK newboy Kevin-Prince Boateng has said that new coach Sergen Yalçın caused excitement in the team following their 3-0 win over Gaziantep last Saturday.

The Ghanaian forward came from the bench to score on his debut when Besiktas won in the Turkish Super Lig fixture.

"Before I came, I was told 'There is a lot of pressure on the team, the team is not doing well in the league, and it is not good in the standings'. But after I came here, I saw this, a positive," Boateng said.

"There is an atmosphere. The situation in the team in terms of unity and friendship is very good. It is difficult to achieve this. It is difficult to achieve this togetherness and companionship when things are going bad. I saw this here."

Boateng also stated that they are at the stage of getting to know each other with the manager Sergen Yalçın.

"We are at the stage of getting to know each other. The manager has just arrived, I just joined the team. The important thing is, we understand each other very well. I can understand very well what the manager asked me for and what kind of game he wanted. At the end of about a month, our relationship will get to a better point. I know very well how big a symbol the manager is for the club. When we look at the atmosphere here, I can say that the manager is here, the presence here really lifted the club up and brought it up."

Moreover, the 32-year-old is pleased with his reception at the club since he joined them on-loan from AFC Fiorentina.

"I have been very well received here. I feel like I've been here for a long time. Now all we have to do is match up, step up and move it up. Carry those positive and good emotions into every match."

"I couldn't have imagined better"
