Asante Kotoko assistant coach Prince Acheampong Sabuto admits the technical team faces a tough task building a new team for next season following mass departures.

Top performers Awal Mohammed, Yaw Frimpong, Ahmed Toure, Nathaniel Asamoah and Mohammed Fatawu are all set for moves abroad.

Sabuto was very instrumental in revamping Kotoko this season and thinks the technical team will have to work tirelessly to put up a new team.

He told Sunyani-based Dinpa FM: "It's obvious most of the players we used this season will be leaving the club and we will have to take pragmatic measures to build up a new team for next season.''

"People must understand there is a difference between replacing the players and building a new team because we can get the best of replacements but how quick they will gel is the tougher task.''

He added: "We are still in the recruitment process and I believe we can get the best materials because we have higher ambitions for next season which am certain we can achieve."

Asante Kotoko will leave for Tanzania for a pre-season tournament where they intend to assess most of their new recruits.
