Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu has escaped punishment for misconduct on Premier league opening day.

The 38-year-old appeared before the Referee Review panel on Thursday to mount a defense on the charge which eventually proved successful.

Konadu’s antics and gestures towards refereeing decisions on the bench were deemed improper in the opening league fixture with Tema Youth.

He rendered an apology and expressed remorse though was thankfull at being let off the hook after his hearing.

“I want to commend the FA for setting up this body, sometimes we make mistakes we don’t realize during a game,” he said.

“When I saw the clip I realized there were some gestures I shouldn’t have made and to that I apologized and assured it won’t happen again.”

“Reactions like that to referee decisions that don’t favour you could be interpreted wrongly by the numerous supporters of the club and could end up inciting them to also react negatively.”

The ex WA All Stars coach has since left to finish preparing his team for this weekend's league clash away to Bechem United.
