Trialist Nathaniel Asamoah has played his first competitive match for Serbian side Red Star Belgrade in a 2-1 loss to Montenegrin side Petrovic in a friendly.

The Asante Kotoko striker lasted the entire duration of the match and was thought to have impressed coach Robert Prosinecki.

The 22 year old is set to ink a deal with the capital side who struggled to keep hold of their title last season losing out to bitter rivals Partizan Belgrade.

The Serbian Super Liga will start in March and the club are on a training tour in neighbouring Montenegro.
