Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Oti Akenteng has indicated that the current Black Maidens squad should be kept in order to graduate them to the next U20 team.

Despite the Maidens failure to clinch the ultimate at the ongoing U-17 FIFA Women's World Cup, the team won raves of plaudits for their superlative display in the tournament.

Coach Evans Adotey's side walloped host country Uruguay 5-0 in the opening fixture before beating Finland and New Zealand 2-0 and 3-1 respectively to win their group with a perfect record.

"These girls should not be left just like that, progression method should follow, that is moving from one level to another," he said

"The girls have shown that in future they will be able to do very well so I want to plead that the girls should not be left just like that we should try as much as possible to keep them."

"If I am asked to put up a programme I will recommend that we put them together and make sure they are not left just like that."
