Liverpool's Danny Ward in talks with Leicester - source

Steve Nicol is over the moon with Liverpool's reported agreement to sign Alisson, explaining what the much sought-after goalkeeper brings to the club.

Shaka Hislop explains why he's certain Liverpool will get a return on their reported £66.9 million investment should Alisson agree to move to Anfield.

Leicester City are in talks with Liverpool about a potential transfer for goalkeeper Danny Ward, a source has confirmed to ESPN FC.

Liverpool are closing in on a world-record move for Roma's Alisson and are now prepared to let Ward depart this summer.

Sources had told ESPN FC that Ward, capped four times by Wales, had a realistic chance being Liverpool's No. 1 goalkeeper this season after Loris Karius' errors in the Champions League final in May.

But the expected arrival of Alisson in a deal worth €75 million has changed the landscape considerably.

Ward, who joined from Wrexham in January 2012, has only made three first-team appearances for Liverpool, playing as third choice to Karius and Simon Mignolet in 2017-18.

The 25-year-old has, however, enjoyed successful spells out on loan at Aberdeen and Huddersfield Town, where he helped The Terriers achieve promotion to the Premier League.
