Manchester City become favourites to land Juventus star

Manchester City may well have become favourites to sign Juventus’ Paul Pogba, after potential suitors Barcelona reportedly pulled out of a proposed deal to sign the player.

The in-demand Frenchman has been a notable target for a number of clubs during recent months, although it was previously expected that Catalonia was to be Pogba’s expected destination for the not too distant future.

However, the Daily Mirror have now reported that the Blaugrana are to reject the chance to sign the 22-year-old due to financial limitations, and will instead continue their search for a young defender.

Therefore, this leaves Manchester City with the perfect opportunity to land the Juventus star, who could potentially leave Turin for an estimated €100 million transfer fee.

However, the Citizens may also face stiff competition from Spanish giants, Real Madrid, whose coach Zinedine Zidane, has already expressed a keen interest in signing his French compatriot.

Since leaving Manchester United for the Bianconeri in 2012, Pogba has gone on to make 112 domestic appearances for the club, winning three Serie A titles in the process.
