Marotta: Neither Icardi nor Nainggolan are part of Inter’s plans

Neither Mauro Icardi nor Radja Nainggolan have a future at Inter and sporting director Giuseppe Marotta has made it clear that the pair will need to find themselves new clubs this summer.

Icardi, in particular, has been expected to leave this summer as his troubled relationship with the club appeared to hit a point of no return last season, and so it has proven.

“We’ve already spoken with the interested parties and explained the position of the club,” Marotta said.

“Icardi and Nainggolan are not in our project. Both are excellent players and talents.

?“It’s clear that talent only wins matches. To win a championship a team has to work to achieve goals established by everyone.

“As a result, they’re not part of our project, with all due transparency and respect.”

Icardi has been linked with Napoli in recent weeks, as the Partenopei look to mount a serious title push by adding a No.9.
