Medeama PRO Aidoo concedes league title

Communications Director of Medeama SC Ebenezer Aidoo admits his side is not good enough to win the Premier League title this season.

The Sekondi-based team slumped to their tenth defeat of the campaign away to Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday and now lies 10th on the Premier League log.

Medeama was expected to challenge for the title this term after last season’s exploits but their stuttering first round performance seems to be getting worse by the day and Aidoo acknowledges this fact.

“We have seven home games left and therefore we have to do all we can to win those games but winning the Premier League might be too much to ask, I must be honest with you,” he said.

“Injuries has been one of the key factors for our disappointing performance but this is football. Sometimes it goes your way and other times it does not so we are looking ahead to the next game.

“Dwarfs played very well in the first half I must admit and when we got back in it it was quiet clear we needed someone to put the ball behind the net and eventually they (Dwarfs) scored a beautiful goal to win the game.”

Medeama will have the opportunity to salvage their ailing season when they host New Edubiase on Wednesday.
