Ghana captain John Mensah has confirmed his participation in the forthcoming Africa peace charity game scheduled for the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra next Wednesday.

Michael Essien, who is the African Union (AU) Peace Ambassador, is the brain behind the high-profile game involving African XI and World XI.

Soccer greats to grace the occasion are Chelsea stars, Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou, Emmanuel Adebayor, Ashley Cole, Florent Malouda, among others. Speaking to his official site johntherock5.com Mensah said “It is good to support a worthy cause and I am extremely happy to be part of the Peace match.” Mensah added: “to raise fund for charity is always a good idea and I will always give my heart to it.” The Black Star captain revealed to johntherock5.com “Essien is a good friend to me so there was no need to re-think about honouring his invitation.’ The Black Stars Captain is expected to arrive in the country a day before the game with his family to begin their summer holidays while preparing for Ghana’s Nations Cup qualifier next month.
