Michael Anaba insists confidence and belief remains high in the Ghana camp despite being shell-shocked at Uganda over the weekend.

Uganda’s 3-1 victory over the Black Satellites in the first leg of the qualifier 2013 Africa Youth Championship has put them in the driving seat, with Ghana needing to score at least two unanswered goals in the second leg to ensure passage to the final qualifying round.

Coach Maxwell Konadu faces a daunting task to restore confidence in the team ahead of the return fixture in Accra.

But the impressive Asante Kotoko enforcer who scored the only goal for the Ghanaians maintains his colleagues are capable of turning things around.

“There is no need to press the panic button. We are very disappointed that we lost but we have the second leg to look forward to,” Anaba told GHANAsoccernet.com

“I trust in our coach and my colleagues. We have not lost hope at all. The same way they beat us, we are also capable of beating them on our home soil and qualify to the next stage,”

“It is obviously not going to be an easy task but I am confident we can surmount the challenge,”

“We will be playing to our best to win and get through to the next rund because we want to qualify to the African Youth Championship.”

The winner of the tie will battle either Morocco or Gabon in the final qualifying round in September and October.
