Three Ghanaian players were involved in action for their clubs on the opening night of this season's Uefa Champions League on Tuesday night.

Midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng was named in the AC Milan starting line-up but was replaced by Massimo Ambrosini just after 34 minutes when Thiago Silva scored a 90th minute header to snatch a 2-2 draw at Barcelona.

Youngster Jordan Ayew substituted Loic Remy on 68 minutes when Marseille recorded their first win this season a slender 1-0 triumph at Olympiakos Piraeus.

Andre Ayew travelled with the Marseille team but was left out of the 18 man squad because of injury.

The victory has helped Marseille to the top of Group F table.

Elsewhere at the BVB Stadion, Borussia Dortmund needed an 88th minute striker from Croatian international Ivan PeriÃ…¡i? to draw one-all with Arsenal.

Midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong was brought on for Theo Walcott on the 77th minute.

Arsenal with that away draw stay at second place.
