Montoya: I moved to Inter at the wrong time

Former Inter defender Martin Montoya has commented on his experience at the club and admitted that he was happy to leave after only making three Serie A appearances.

The Barcelona defender, now on loan at Real Betis in an attempt to relaunch his career, joined the Nerazzurri from the Catalan giants this past summer.

“My adventure in Italy came at the wrong moment of my career,” admitted Montoya to reporters.

“When I heard that Real Betis were interested in me, I didn’t think twice about the opportunity.”

The 24-year-old spent the majority of his time at Inter on the sidelines, and the defender has criticised his former side for not giving him enough minutes on the pitch.

“I have come here to play football – something I was unable to do for the past few months. This is the perfect club for me,” concluded Montoya.
