Napoli are reportedly keen to secure the signing of Chelsea loanee Nathaniel Chalobah on a permanent basis.

The 21-year-old has been on loan at the Partenopei since the summer but has only featured on six occasions for the club.

According to The Telegraph, however, Maurizio Sarri is an admirer of the midfielder and is eager to extend his stay at the Stadio San Paolo side.

Chalobah has gone through a tough time in his personal life of late, recently seeing his mother pass away. During this time, the club have shown tremendous support for the youngster.

Ahead of their recent victory over Sassuolo, Napoli held a minute’s silence for the player’s mother, who passed away the day before. After the game, Sarri dedicated the win to Chalobah, expressing his admiration for the player.

In their most recent outing against Sampdoria, Dries Mertens celebrated his goal by leading the whole team to the bench to celebrate with Chalobah, upon his return to the matchday squad.
