Napoli make contact with Paris Saint-Germain over French midfielder

Napoli are eyeing a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot in the January transfer window.

The 20-year-old defensive midfielder has started just half of Les Parisiens’ Ligue 1 games this season and could be willing to leave the French champions to obtain regular first team football.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Partenopei have made initial contact with PSG over the Saint-Maurice born midfielder’s availability.

The French under-21 international is highly regarded in Paris and the club would be reluctant to let the midfielder leave despite his desire to receive more game time this campaign.

The midfielder has started nine of PSG’s 18 league games this season, and two of the clubs’ Champions League ties, scoring in their 5-0 away win over Malmo at the end of November.

The 20-year-old made his debut for Les Parisiens under former coach Carlo Ancelotti in August 2012, during a 0-0 Ligue 1 draw with Bordeaux.
