War of words has erupted between football administrators Nana Oduro-Sarfo of Berekum Chelsea and Asante Kotoko’s Ben Nti.

The impasse is connected to Kotoko’s intension to withdraw from the novelty GHALCA competition involving eight teams.

However Oduro-Sarfo has called the ‘bluff’ of the Premier League giants, belittling the clout of Kotoko in the process.

“The time of fear for Hearts and Kotoko is passed, they are now just like any other club and therefore are no longer in the position to dictate affairs,” Oduro-Sarfo told Kumasi-based Angel FM.

“A team that can be beaten by just any ordinary club and is always getting points deducted due to shameful acts can never be given the same credence as in the past.

“If they (Kotoko) decide not to play, they should go their way for the organizers to find a suitable replacement so we can show them they are no longer relevant in Ghana football.”

His comments however did not go well with Kotoko’s administrative manager Ben Nti who also made a shocking revelation in the process.

“I have heard Oduro-Sarfo talk a lot about Kotoko and I honestly don’t get what he is trying to achieve,” Nti said.

“What does he want from Kotoko? Is it because I turned down his plea to have him join the club?

“He is just bitter because he was denied the chance to become the Accra Rep of this great club – a post which at that point was being occupied by Kwame Baah-Nuako.”

Nti also took the opportunity to re-emphasize Kotoko’s stand on the novelty competition which is expected to start on September 4.

“I want to make it clear that Kotoko is only committed to playing the Top 4 tournament.

“That is the position of the club at present and I don’t know whether this stand will at anytime be changed or not,” he added.
