O'Neill flattered by interest

Northern Ireland boss Michael O'Neill says he has been flattered with the links to the West Brom job but says for the moment he is focused on the national side.

The Baggies are still in the hunt for a new permanent manager after the sacking of Darren Moore earlier this season.

West Brom did manage to reach the semi-finals of the play-offs, only to lose out to Aston Villa on penalties.

O'Neill has been linked with the vacant position at The Hawthorns but the former Newcastle United, Hibernian and Wigan Athletic midfielder says he is happy in his current role with Northern Ireland.

"It is nice that people recognise the job that you are doing," said O'Neill. "Of course club football is always attractive and you can never plan too far ahead in football.

"The Championship is certainly a very appealing league to work in. The club game now, there is so much instability in it and the tenure of managers is very short term.

"When you are looking to step out of the situation I am in, you are always looking at what the structure of the club is and that it is right for me."

Aston Villa are 6/5 to win, 11/5 to draw and 12/5 to lose to Derby County in the Championship play-off final.
