Ghana youth right-back Daniel Opare will Real Mardid to join Belgian giants Standard Liege in the coming days, Ghanasoccernet can exclusively reveal.
The 19-year-old has decided to quit the Spanish and Europeans giants after two years of frustration in the second side of the Madrid-based team.
He has now agreed a three-year contract with Standard with another option for a further year.
A statement released by Standard said: “We were quietly working a deal with Real Madrid over Daniel Opare and we can announce that a deal has been reached.â€
Standard will now agree personal terms with Opare before the deal is sealed.
Opare has already played 20 matches for the youth teams of Ghana and has one cap at the full international level.
In 2008, he signed a contract with Real Madrid Opare for four seasons, but he soon ended up in the B team.
His lack of play and a serious knee injury prevented him from gaining a position in the national team.
In his absence Samuel Inkoom stepped up into the ranks and he is now regarded as the second choice behind John Paintsil.
But the move to Belgium will offer Opare the new chance to revive his career and fight for a place in the Ghana national team.
He was a regular player for the Real Madrid reserve team Castilla that finished third in the Spanish junior leagues.
