Ghana FA General Secretary Kofi Nsiah takes a bow from the job after 10-years, paving the way for the post to be keenly contested for in the coming days.

A testimonial match for the FA scribe will take place in Kumasi on Saturday after holding the post for a decade in appreciation for his dedication and hardwork.

Three candidates have applied for the vacant post which is perceived as as one of the lucrative jobs at the FA.

Three candidates have applied for the job with the administrative manager of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Kurt Okraku and Chief Executive Officer of Premier League side Ashantigold Kudjoe Fianoo in the fray as the major contenders for the post.

Current Deputy Secretary Emmanuel Gyimah will not be a pushover following his worth of experience at the post for many years as the three slug it out for the post.

Okraku, who holds an MBA in Football Administration from the prestigious Liverpool University in the UK, is the favourite for the job.

His work for GHALCA as the administrative secretary has brought massive positive changes to the body representing clubs in Ghana.

He is credited for the current format of the GHALCA Top Four competition, the President’s Cup and the return of Ghana’s FA Cup.

Fianoo is also tipped by the experts for the job because of his long association of football administration in Ghana while Gyimah has insisted in the past that he’s the right man for the job.

But the chicken could come home roasting for the AshantiGold boss over allegations of conflict of interest issues.

Fianoo, who is the CEO of the miners, is a member of the executive committee of the GFA- the body which decides on who becomes the next GFA secretary general.

Some members claim Fianoo must step down from his position on the board otherwise as he wields an unfair advantage over the other contestants.

It is also widely believed his open political affiliations is creating discomfort for some members of the GFA after the football federation enjoyed some strained relationship with the ruling government.

The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association will announce the next FA scribe in the coming days.
