Perisic promises Inter will give everything to beat Juventus

Inter winger Ivan Perisic admitted that he needed time to settle down at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza as his performances have not always matched expectations due to his expensive price tag.

Following seemingly endless negotiations between the Nerazzurri and Wolfsburg, the Croatia international eventually moved to Milan during the last days of last summer’s transfer window for around €20 million.

“I’ve been here for six months now,” Perisic told Inter Channel.

“I needed some time to settle in because Milan is the biggest city I’ve lived in for the last 10 years.

“Also, everything was new to me, I’ve changed league and team-mates. Anyway, everything is fine now.”

The 27-year-old also commented on Inter’s recent poor form, as the Beneamata fell from first to fifth within a couple of months.

“We’re coming off the back of a difficult month, but we got back to winning ways against Sampdoria,” Perisic added.

“We’re coming up against Juventus in the league in a very important game, we’ll give everything to get the victory.

“Three days later, we’ll take them on again in the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg. It won’t be easy to overturn the score from the first leg [3-0] but we’ll keep fighting until the very end.”

Perisic has started 17 times under Roberto Mancini in this campaign, and scored the last of his three Serie A goals to help Inter complete their comeback during an unexpected 3-3 draw at Hellas Verona on February 7.
