Playing against Kotoko in Kumasi was like fighting against your father- Nkana FC defender Ben Adama

Defender Ben Adama says playing against his former side Asante Kotoko in Kumasi was a tough one for him as the Porcupine Warriors thrashed Nkana FC 3-0.

Ben Adama played in the heart of defence but could not stop a rampant Asante Kotoko in a dominating first half performance.

Following the defeat to the Porcupine Warriors, the 31-year old describes the defeat as a bad day for his side.

"It wasn’t easy coming back six years later to play against Kotoko. The feeling was like someone fighting against the father," he told Happy FM.

"We had a bad day yesterday. The goalkeeper told me that he wasn’t into the game so I had to communicate to the technical team for him to be substituted . He wasn’t himself yesterday because this is a goalkeeper who has helped us a lot," he added.

Group C is now open with Al Hilal on seven points and top of the log, followed closely by Asante Kotoko and Nkana FC with Zesco United bottom with four points.

Despite the result in Kumasi, Adama is hopeful of his sides chances of reaching the quarter finals.

"We wanted to at least get a point in yesterday game but things didn’t go as planned," he said.

'Our game against Zesco United is very important and we know that we must win,' he added.

"With the way the group is now any team can qualify."
