Pogba reveals admiration for Juventus heroes

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has revealed his gratitude for the experienced player’s he has played alongside during his time in Turin.

The 23-year-old joined the Bianconeri in 2012 after failing to break into the Manchester United starting line-up under Sir Alex Ferguson.

“It’s true, I have improved a lot in recent years,” the France international told UEFA.com.

“I think it’s because I’m surrounded by great players who are humble, hard-working and that make you work hard. Players like [Gianluigi] Buffon and Andrea Pirlo are my role models. I want to achieve their career goals.”

Pogba also recalled his fond memories of representing France at the Under-17 European Championship in 2010.

“It’s a great memory,” he added.

“I played against some of the bigger nations like England and Spain. It was a great experience for a young player. We lost but I learned a lot.

“It helped me to improve. It’s always been a dream for me to wear the shirt and play for my country.”

Pogba has scored 28 goals during 123 appearances for the Old Lady and has won four Scudetti in the process.
