PSG coach Blanc: Chelsea weaker without Terry

Published on: 16 February 2016

PSG coach Laurent Blanc admits John Terry's absence has forced a rethink in their planning for the Champions League tie with Chelsea.

Blanc admits their chances will improve if Chelsea captain Terry is ruled out.

He said: “John Terry, we know he's experienced for his club and in the Champions League. He's an icon for Chelsea.

"When he came off on Saturday, everything changed: Cesar Azpilicueta to the right; Branislav Ivanovic in the centre... the whole system changed.

"His absence would probably change everything in terms of the personnel at the back for Chelsea.

"We have been preparing to confront Terry in defence. If he's not there, we'll adapt.

"John Terry is still an important piece in their squad in terms of the game and their spirit. Technically he's a very good player, especially with his head."
