REVEALED: Hasaacas players were bleeding ahead of Wa All Stars game due to the harsh weather

Published on: 25 February 2016

Sekondi Hasaacas players experienced acute espistaxis during their visit to Wa to honour the opening day fixture of the Ghana Premier League against Wa All Stars, with striker Joy Dadzie becoming the worst victim, according to coach Yussif Barzigi.

The Hasaacas forward, bled from the nose due to "harsh" weather of Wa minutes before kickoff and was forced out of the lineup.

Most of the players of the "Western Giants" were struggling to contain the heat coupled with a searing sun and were left with no choice than to call  for water after every 5  minutes during the warm up session.

Striker Joy Dadzie could not stand the heat and was in severe nosebleed.

The situation gave coach Yussif Barzigli a painful reason to sideline him for the match.

The unfortunate incident happened during the warm up session and travelled through during the match, a circumstance which the coach believes was a key factor in their defeat at Wa.

The coach who explained to Ghanasoccernet.com the ordeal his boys went through during the game at WA was however full of praise of his boys and thinks but for the unfriendliness of the weather, the result of the match would have been different.

"My boys played well but the climatic condition of the Upper West defeated us," he said.

"My striker, Joy Dadzie, for instance, experienced nose bleeding and hence we couldn't field him.

Other teams that will be going up north to face Wa All Stars in subsequent duels will have Hasaacas’ ordeal as a guide.
