Ghana forward Kevin-Prince Boateng has emerged as a major doubt for US Sassuolo ahead of Saturday's Serie A clash against Inter Milan after suffering an injury in their 2-0 defeat against Napoli on Sunday.
Boateng has impressed for the Neroverdi since joining in the summer from German side Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 32-year-old has earned praise from coach Roberto De Zerbi and Italian football pundits for his leadership role.
But the Mapei Stadium outfit could miss his presence in their Saturday's game against Inter Milan after he was visibly struggling during their 2-0 loss against Napoli in the Coppa Italia on Sunday, clutching his thigh as the minutes ran down at San Poalo, before he was substituted by Jeremie Borga with 20 minutes left on the clock.
"Boateng was touching her thigh during the second half, she still does not have 90 'in his legs". After a few minutes, the change arrived. No alarmism, but Boateng is still looking for the best condition," says ace journalist Alessandro Antinelli.
