Schalke 04 are reportedly looking to activate a buy back clause installed in Bernard Tekpetey’s contract in order to bring him back to the club from SC Paderborn this summer.

The German Bundesliga II are said to be willing to listen to offers for the 21-year-old over the summer, but the Royal Blues have first refusal on their former striker.

According to ' RevierSport ', Tekpetey is open to making a return to the top-flight division, and his relationship with coach  Domenico Tedesco together with a buy back clause means the door is open for the Gelsenkirchen-based outfit to swoop in there before anyone else.

Schalke are said to have installed the clause when Tekpetey originally left for Paderborn at the start of the current campaign.

Tekpetey has been in sublime form for Paderborn in the ongoing Bundesliga II season, scoring seven goals and registering three assists in 17 games.
