Experienced female sports journalist Rosalind Amoh could become an Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association following a decision by the federation to create an additional slot for women on the committee.

Rosalind who is a member of the Women’s League Board could contest for the position after the GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi announced that they are proposing to Congress to create the seat solely for women.

Kwesi Nyantakyi explained the need for a woman to be on the ExCo to represent their interest explaining that the only woman on the ExCo, Leanier Addy, is not on the committee to represent the interest of women.

“To this effect, we will be proposing to Congress to create an additional slot on the Executive Committee exclusively for women,” Nyantakyi announced after the 3-day football summit by the GFA to brainstorm for the way forward for Ghana football.

“Though miss Leanier Addy is the only woman on the Executive Committee, she is not there for women football. She is there as the representative of the constituent bodies,” he explained.

“With her portfolio, if referees or coaches think that they’ve had enough of her tenure, they can ask her to step aside.

“But we think that this is an era where we have to encourage women. It’s not about Addy as a person but it’s about women. So we will have a permanent seat on the ExCo for women,” he added.

Following the announcement, GHANAsoccernet has gathered that Rosalind Amoh who works for the Graphic Communications Group and is a member of the Black Queens Management Committee could jump for the new portfolio if created.

Rosalind’s dream of becoming a top decision maker in the football industry is, however, subject to the approval of the request by the ExCo at Congress which is scheduled for January.
