Stevanovic: Ghana ready to open 2012 AFCON campaign

Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic insists his team is ready to deliver victory in their opening Group D fixture Botswana on Tuesday.

The Black Stars have been touted as overwhelming favourites not only to top the group but also to emerge winners of the competition.

But the Serbian trainer Stevanovic is limiting himself to a game at a time and believes his team is adequately prepared to dispatch off the Zebras tomorrow.

“I am happy we did a very good job in South Africa and I am sure we are ready for tomorrow,” he said at the pre-match Press Conference after the final training session Monday evening.

“We know how important the first game is; I told my players the first game is more important than the final.

“We know everything about Botswana, we respect them but we are sure of our quality.”
