Swansea City still hopeful of re-signing Ghana forward Andre Ayew

Swansea City are still hopeful of signing former forward Andre Ayew from West Ham with barely 48 hours to close the winter transfer window.

The Swans had a bid of around £14m rejected for the Ghana international earlier this month with West Ham only interested in selling Ayew for £20m.

The same amount the Hammers spent to bring Ayew, who scored 15 goals in his debut Premier League season, to London in 2016.

It is understood Ayew is keen to return Swansea, where his brother Jordan also plays.

And manager Carlos Carvalhal says the club will "fight until the last minute," to sign players ahead of Wednesday's deadline.
