Teenage striker Acosty debuts for Fiorentina in Serie A

Ghana youth striker Maxwell Boadu Acosty made his Serie A debut for Fiorentina by coming off the bench to play in the 0-0 draw with Cagliari on Sunday.

The 19-year-old Primavera League leading scorer replaced Serbian forward Adem Ljaji? after 64 minutes and gave a good account of himself.

Acosty, who has notched an impressive 14 goals in 12 games for La Viola's reserve side, joined the club's 18-man squad for the trip after impressing manager Delio Rossi.

His incisive pass for Riccardo Montolivo on 72 minutes was wasted by the Italian attacker.

Acosty is hoping to hold down a regular first team spot at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Compatriot Salifu Amidu also lasted 57 minutes of the game for Fiorentina.
