Ghana's Thomas Partey once again confirmed his ratings as one of the best midfielders in the world following a strong performance for Atletico Madrid in their 1-1 stalemate against Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.

Partey returned to his favourite midfield role against the English champions after playing as a makeshift right back over the weekend in their 2-1 win against Real Sociedad.

The Ghanaian international did not disappoint as he put in a superb display in the Rojiblancos ending a point in the game, but it wasn't enough to send them through to the knockout round of the competition as they finished 3rd on the standings.

Spanish midfielder Saul Niguez handed Diego Simeone's men a 56th minute lead before Stefan Savic scored an own goal on the 75th minute mark as the match ended in a draw.

Atletico Madrid exited the competition with seven points after six games and will now compete in the Europa League.
