Tottenham Hotspur are planning a shock move for Ghana sensation Christian Atsu, skysports have reported.

Manager Andre Villas-Boas is believed to be a huge admirer of the talented Ghanaian international who excelled for Rio Ave during a loan spell last term.

The impressive winger played under Boas when he joined the first-team ranks at the Estadio do Dragao.

Porto have always been aware of his talent and are delighted to see him fulfilling his potential.

They hope he will continue to flourish in Portugal, with it their intention to tie the youngster down on fresh terms.

The Ghana international is, however, drawing plenty of admiring glances from afar.

Liverpool  and Everton  have been strongly linked with an approach in the recent past and Tottenham have now entered the race to take Atsu to the Premier League.
