Tournament debut is stuff of dreams for Valladolid starlets

It's always said that the beginnings are tough, although in this particular case the outcome really wasn't the most important thing. Although the performances unfortunately just weren't there in their first few outings, R.Valladolid CF managed to turn things around and close out their first campaign at this, the 26th LaLiga Promises National Tournament on a high.

In the build-up to their curtain-raiser, the side's coach sought to stress the importance of camaraderie: "Help your teammates when they're struggling and be there for each other if things don't go our way." Over the course of this three-day competition, the on-field action really isn't the be-all and end-all, with the experience in itself of far greater significance: "Let's make sure that when we leave here on Sunday, we come away with lots of new experiences," urged the manager.

In all of their games, the budding Valladolid talents were buoyed on by a hearty number of Pucela fans, which included a familiar face amongst the club's supporters in the shape of former hitman Victor Fernandez, who had the following to say about the opportunities offered by LaLiga Promises: "We weren't lucky enough to have these kinds of tournaments in my day." Reflecting on what it's meant to be involved, Valladolid youngster Adrian commented: "I've enjoyed the experience because you get to test yourself against the other LaLiga Santander teams."
