Former Ghana U-20 captain Kingsley Fobi has been handed a Black Meteors call up by coach Ibrahim Tanko ahead of the AFCON U-23 qualifier against Togo.

The UD Ibizia defender confirmed his call up, and is expected to join camp on Monday for the game on Tuesday.

The Black Meteors will host their Togolese counterparts at the Baba Yara Stadium tomorrow with with the second leg to take place at the weekend.

"It is true that I have earned a call-up to the Ghana U23 team ahead of the Togo game," Fobi told Kickgh.com.

The Black Meteors, who have not qualified for the Olympic games since Athens 2004, will see this an opportunity to return to the all sporting event.

However, the Black Meteors will have to qualify for Egypt 2019 first before they can have a shot at Tokyo 2020.

Other foreign based players to have also been invited to camp are Yaw Yeboah of UD Numancia and Dauda Mohammed of Anderlecht.
