Justice Blay second-minute strike was enough for Asante Kotoko to get the Ghana Premier League season off to a winning start by beating Elmina Sharks 1-0.
Blay jumped high to head into the net a fine cross from the boots of Emmanuel Gyamfi.
The goal goes down as the first scored in this season's league.
