Vrancic: I've grown as a person

Published on: 13 July 2019

Norwich City manager Daniel Farke has persuaded Bosnia and Herzegovina international Mario Vrancic to sign a new deal at Carrow Road.

The 30-year-old, who scored 10 goals last season as the Canaries clinched promotion from the Championship, is now contracted to the club until June 2021.

Vrancic moved to Norfolk from SV Darmstadt in June 2017 and has made 77 appearances for City.

He said: "I am obviously very pleased. I have enjoyed myself since day one and I am really looking forward to the future.

"The start to my time here was pretty strange, I wasn't happy with my performances but sometimes it just takes a few weeks, a few months maybe, but I am very pleased now.

"I felt I did my job pretty well last season and I hope to continue like that this season as well. I feel like I have grown as a person as well which is really important too."

Vrancic cannot wait for the first game of the season against Liverpool on 9th August, a match Norwich are 16/1 to win.

He added: "It is not just a dream of a mine but a dream of many players. All players want to play in the Premier League. We know how tough it will be against Liverpool but we want to do well.

"It is important to enjoy these moments but we won't go there just to visit the stadium or enjoy the atmosphere. We want to go there and collect some points."

Norwich can be backed at 10/11 not to be relegated this season.
