Wanda weighs in on Icardi’s Inter contract issues

Wanda Nara claims that her husband Mauro Icardi remains a long way from signing a contract renewal with Inter, despite talks between the two parties on-going.

The Argentinian striker has recently received a fine from his club after a cancelled flight from Buenos Aires ensured he returned back late for training.

Nara, who also acts at the the Inter captain’s agent, explained to Spanish newspaper AS that the player has still not committed himself to the Nerazzurri.

“There are some very important clubs interested in Mauro,” she revealed, “and we are a long way from reaching an agreement. The numbers that were being talked about were untrue and we have not yet received a satisfactory offer from Inter.”

“That is not to say that there will not be an agreement, but today we are a long way away. It does not make sense for Mauro to renew for the fee he has been offered.”

Icardi is contracted to Inter until 2021 currently, with a new deal likely to extend his stay until 2023 if he signs with the club.
