Watch the moment a non-League player receives THREE cards in 12 seconds ?

A non-League footballer was shown three cards in the space of 12 seconds after committing two separate fouls in one play.

Alex Low had a nightmare for Garforth Town against Bridlington Town in their Northern Counties East League Premier Division clash. He fouled an opposition player just outside the opposition box as Bridlington began to form a counter-attack.

The referee waved for an advantage as the visitors continued to burst into the Garforth half in search of a winning goal — but not if Low had anything to do with it.

The No 5 was reportedly made aware after the advantage call that he would be booked as he sprinted back to help his team-mates.

In a desperate attempt to make good after his error at the other end, Low lunged from behind an attacker on the edge of the box - committing yet another foul.

The referee then blew his whistle and called central defender over. He raised his arm once and pointed towards the other end of the pitch and then raised his arm again and indicated it was for his foul on the edge of his own box.

Finally, a third card was shown, this time red, and Low had no complaints as he exited the field. His dismissal - fortunately for him - did not affect the scoreline as the sides played out a 1-1 draw.

Garforth Town posted the video of both fouls to their Twitter account, writing: 'Here's something you don't see every day... The ref gives Garforth's Alex Low three cards at once.'

Former Premier League referee Bobby Madley took to social media to praise the official, claiming he showed good 'awareness' to let the play continue.

He said: 'This is excellent refereeing! Always a risk to play advantage on a yellow card, especially on edge of area like that but this is very well managed with really good awareness.'
