Acting chairman of Malmo FF Anders PÃ¥lsson has believes his outfit have a genuine case to claim a refund of the transfer fee for jailed Ghanaian midfielder Kingsley Sarfo.
The Swedish giants paid $1.5 million to sign the talented Ghanaian on a four-year deal last year.
But the promising career of the 23-year-old has been cut short after he was handed a two-year and eight months prison sentence for defilement.
Reports in the Swedish press indicate that the Sea Blue lads have sued Sirius, demanding a refund of their $1.5 million.
With the Ghanaian expected to serve his full sentence, Malmo are determined to reclaim their money.
The matter has been sent to the Swedish Football Association arbitration panel.
Malmo feel the decision to buy the Ghanaian from Sirius IK was a bad one and want a refund of their money.
At today's member meeting, acting chairman Anders Pålsson revealed that the process between Sirius and Malmö FF has just started.
"I can't go into so many details here. This is a process where we should not disclose the content of what we think and what we have said in this process.
"Hopefully this judgment will come this fall."
"When we know more, we will inform about it."
Sarfo made 60 appearances for IK Sirius in the Superettan and 11 in Allsvenskan, scoring nine goals and providing 18 assists in total.
