Yusif Abubakar sacked as Berekum Chelsea assistant coach

Premier League champions Berekum Chelsea have announced that assistant coach Abubakar Yusif has left the club by mutual consent.

"Yusif played a pivotal role in our historic league title triumph, the MTN FA Cup semi-final berth and the President Cup. We wish to thank him for his exploits and commitment as coach," Chief Executive Obed Nketiah told the club's website on Tuesday.

Yusif joined Chelsea in June last year  in a care-taker capacity after he was recommended by substantive coach Steve Pollack due to the deteriorating ill health of the latter.

It is widely believed the return of Pollack as a technical director may have forced him out of the club.

Head coach Orlando Wellington will prepare the team for in the off-season.
