Zidane on his hug with Nacho: Just before goal I told him to attack near post

Zinedine Zidane was left delighted by Nacho being Real Madrid's match winner at Real Valladolid on Sunday evening.

The Spaniard scored with just over 10 minutes to play, sending Los Blancos clear at the top of the LaLiga Santander table.

In celebration of his goal, Nacho ran to embrace Zidane on the bench.

"I'm happy for him," Zidane responded at his press conference when asked about the celebration.

"Just before that, I told him to attack the near post.

"He's a defender who doesn't usually score a lot, so I'm happy for him."

Despite being leaders now, Zidane isn't getting carried away and he insisted that their approach remains the same.

"Leading doesn't change anything," he said.

"We have to keep doing the things we're doing well.

"It's a long and difficult season."

Real Valladolid put up a fight against Real Madrid, and Zidane expected nothing less.

"It was a complicated game against a complicated opponent," he added.

"They'd only lost one game at home and play very well.

"It was important to win."

Kobe Bryant's passing shocked the world of sport on Sunday evening, and Zidane was even asked about the former NBA's player's death.

"It's a terrible feeling," he said.

"It's terrible news that affects us all.

"I can't say anything, it's awful news.

"We're very sorry."
