Abraham eyeing Blues breakthrough

Published on: 15 June 2019

Tammy Abraham says he is determined to break his way into the Chelsea first-team this year but has not ruled out a possible return to Aston Villa.

The 21-year-old has been made to bide his time at Stamford Bridge and has gone out on loan in the Championship on three occasions with the likes of Bristol City, Swansea and Villa.

Abraham was key in helping Villa secure promotion via the Championship playoff final and the striker has been linked with a return to the West Midlands outfit this summer.

Abraham has not ruled out a return to Villa Park but for the moment his priority is on trying to force his way into the first-team setup at Stamford Bridge.

"You can never say never," Abraham told Sky Sports News when asked about a return to Villa.

"Chelsea is obviously the club that I have been at since a young so the aim is to try and breakthrough there.

"Like I say, you can never say never. We'll see how things look."

Chelsea are 25/1 to win the Premier League title next season, while Manchester City are 4/6 to retain the English crown.
