AC Milan president says goalkeeping starlet to remain at club until 2030

Gianluigi Donnarumma will remain at AC Milan and become a legend in Rossoneri colours, says club president Silvio Berlusconi.

The Italian youngster has rightly attracted interest due to his mature performances this season since usurping Diego Lopez as Milan’s first choice between the sticks, and Berlusconi is convinced he will remain in place for a long time.

“Donnarumma is not for sale and will be our goalkeeper for the next 15 years,” he told Radio Radio.

Berlusconi also took the time to speak about his future plans for Milan, and he hinted at an all-Italian approach to the next decade which he hopes will bring success back to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

“We have two solutions to bring the club success again,” he started.

“We can build an international squad to challenge the very rich clubs with oilmen owners, or we can place our bets on an all Italian team with players coming from our academy.

“I really like that second option.”

However, the former Prime Minister of Italy refused to make a firm decision on whether coach Sinisa Mihajlovic would be around to see this new era.

“Let’s see how we end the season, and then I’ll make a decision on Mihajlovic.”
