Alfred Duncan praises "brave" Sassuolo teammates in victory over Inter Milan in serie A opener

Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan has praised his Sassuolo teammates for their resolute display in their opening day victory over Inter Milan. 

Sassuolo defeated the former Italian champions 1-0 courtesy a 27th minute penalty from Domenico Berardi.

Duncan, who has been on the radar of his former employers for sometime now showed why the Italian giants need him with a sterling performance on the day.

Following his swashbuckling display on Sunday, the 25 year old hailed his teammates for the victory against Inter Milan.

“We were brave and we made our game,” he said.

“Three important points to start the championship in the best way.”

Alfred Duncan lasted the entire duration and hugely impressed against his former employers.

Meanwhile, compatriot Kevin Prince Boateng saw 84 minutes of action.

Another Ghanaian who played in the fixture was Kwadwo Asamoah. He played 90 minutes but could not help the Nerazzuris to victory on his competitive debut.

Alfred Duncan and Kevin Prince Boteng will travel with their Sassuolo teammates to Cagliari for their second game of the season.
